Eliot Spitzer was so reckless to be on TV, he accepted a narrow from CNN for less than $1 million to host a prime-time, 8 p.m. show. A source says he’s making closer to $500,000 than $1 million, as is his co-host, Kathleen Parker.

Some early numbers are leaking on Rupert Murdoch’s London Times paywall experiment.

After a month of forced free registrations and two weeks of a full paywall, Dan Sabbagh at Beehivecity.com says these are the numbers:

150,000 registrations (PaidContent says this is 12% of the online reader base)
15,000 paid subscriptions
Another 12,500 paid iPad subscriptions

Canada’s Fox News Hits Regulatory Hurdle

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the country’s TV regulator, has told Quebec media giant Quebecor it will not receive a category A, “must-carry” broadcast license for Sun TV News Channel, an upcoming right wing all-news channel to be modeled on Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News channel stateside.
